Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for more than ten years. She is also the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. When she moved to England from Greece at 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. In her 21st year, she was president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to do so. She became an author for a conservative newspaper after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online voice platform that offered criticisms on the political landscape. The celebrity she enjoyed enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions on current events, as well as politics and culture. Arianna was famous after she was elected as an independent in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. The project she headed was a Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes identified her the most powerful female in the media industry in 2009. She ranked 12th on the list. The Guardian also included her to the top 100 list of media outlets in the year 2009. AOL, Inc. named her president of their media division in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli, who are both journalist and management consultants. Though she shared a close connection to both of her parents but it was their connection that helped shape her. In her early years she demonstrated the leadership abilities that she is still known for. She moved to England at 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. As the third woman president and the first foreigner she held the position of head of the Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. After her graduation she became a columnist, critic and TV host. Additionally, she starred with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
