Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and received an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it before the age of 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she finished her degree. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the political situation. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna's celebrity status was first noticed in 2003 when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall vote to replace then-Governor Davis. The project she headed was a Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes named her as the top female in the media industry in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian also included her on the list of top 100 media outlets in the year 2009. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. Then she was appointed the head of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter born to Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. Her character was formed by her closeness to her mother and her bond with her father, despite her being very close to him. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills that she's still known for. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. While in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the colleges debating societies, which she later became the first foreign and female president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she worked as a critic columnist and television host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
